Why do I need a portrait of my pet?

Great question!

For those of you that own pets, we know that our pets become a integral part of our family. If we stop and think about it, we need them as much as they need us. I know some of you are saying, this gal is off her rocker. Give me just a moment to share my rationale (for this Blog, I'm going to use a dog as the example.)

Our dogs rely upon us to get up each day, feed and walk them

We rely upon them to be our alarm clock in the morning and to make sure we get some much needed exercise before we head off to work or whatever occupies our day.

Our dogs rely upon us to care for them, provide them shelter from the heat, water and hopefully only regular veterinary care.

We rely upon our dogs to provide us with unconditional love every day. I swear they sometimes listen better than our spouse (did you hear that honey?)

So you see, our pets are a very important part of our lives, every single day. For a dog, life can be very simple, We love them and they love us.

So the reason you want a professional portrait of your pet is simple. Your pet brings you joy today and the portrait you will have from Pets n Their People Photography will be treasured for your lifetime. We never know what the future holds so preserve your furry friends memory forever in a portrait by booking your session today.

What's new?

Hi friends,

Where do I begin? This year has been a fantastic year for Pets n Their People. I have photographed hundreds of beloved pets and met some truly fantastic pet owners. Most of which are pet rescue folks (you rock-I love people that rescue pets)

In fact, one of my new clients for Real Estate Photography currently has 4 rescue dogs. They actually hired me to photograph their Real Estate listing because they loved my pet photography. You just never know where your next customer will come from, right?

So now I transition to "What's new?" For starters, a new photography company with my incredibly talented son, Travis. The name of my company is Red Door Pictures and we specialize in Real Estate Photography (including HDR and night shots), videography and virtual tours. We named the "Virtual Tours" REEL VIRTUAL TOURS because there are an awful lot of video slide shows that claim to be virtual tours. That is not what we are talking about.

Our REEL VIRTUAL TOURS are interactive 360° virtual tours that the individual viewer controls what they view and when they view it. We are rolling out lots of other products and services over the next couple of months, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks for reading my blog!!!!

Hopefully you have heard that I opened a studio in Palm Desert, CA. I'm located in Fountain Plaza, near the corner of HWY 111 and Larkspur at 73647 HWY 111, Suite B (near Keedy's restaurant and just west of Pete Carlsons Golf and Tennis Shop). Please call ahead to make sure I'm in studio and stop by for a visit (760) 636-2650

Opening this studio has been such an exciting experience and I have learned many new techniques to photograph Pets n People. Working in a controlled environment with a variety of lights, backdrops and props gives me so many opportunities to use my creative side.

One of my recent shoots involved two pets and as an unexpected but welcome bonus Christy brought her daughter Sunshine (she truly is a ray of light). This little gal loves her buddy Roy, a Cocker Spaniel. We busied ourselves picking props for the shoot and playing with poses. It was such a treat to see the interaction between Sunshine and Roy, its a love story between these two friends. I think I captured it in this shot. Tell me what you think...........................................

The other love story here is that Christy (Mom) is such a beautiful person and is so loving and open with her daughter. Makes me smile when I think of the time I spent with them. It was brief but they made my day feel right.

Thank you to all the Moms that teach their Daughters to be creative, independent and to show your lighter and loving side it serves us all well and it is a wonderful gift to share with others.

Dog Day's of Summer almost over........

Dog Day's of Summer almost over........

Hard to believe Summer is coming to a close. What a fantastic Summer it has been....... I have photographed 100's of pets all over California this Summer. I continue to work with local rescue organizations and that is why I have decided to do a 2015 Dog Calendar and a 2015 Cat Calendar. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to two different "no kill" rescue organizations.

My calendars will feature rescue dogs and cats and a few purebred pets. These beauties really learned to "strike a pose" and will bring a smile to your face often throughout the year. I love each and every rescue and pet that I have photographed, they truly bring me joy. I thank all of the owners who have allowed me to use their pet's image(s) in my Calendar. Everyone that has participated in the creation and purchase of my calendars will have a hand in providing for a pet in a shelter and in saving animals.

These calendars are high quality, full color 12 x 24 (when fully folded out) calendars. Calendars make great Christmas or Holiday Gifts at only $14.00 plus tax! Put your orders in now as these will be produced in a limited quantity.

Calendars can be ordered on my "Contact Page" here on my website, through my Facebook page "Pets n Their People Photography" or by simply calling me @ 760-636-2650

Note: Payment is not made until will ship or deliver the Calendar to you!
